I know you guys are the best piraters and web surfers 0o. I have my physics final I've been working on the the last month due on friday. It's on alternative fuels, (even though it's nothing to do with physics....) I have to plan a trip on EDiesel fuel, (blend of Ethanol and normal diesel) and contrast it to the trip on gasoline. (an imaginary trip)

things needed:

Price of Ediesel ( I have a 7% Ethanol price but there's a prob with that) (I really need the price of Ethanol and Diesel IN CALIFORNIA.... I found the diesel.)
Price of Gas:I have this.
Miles per gallon on gas and Ediesel: (this is what I need the most!!)

Location of where you can buy Ediesel.: there isn't one in CA. You can get regular diesel at any gas station, but I dont know if you can buy tons of Ethanol from a store like Propane. I found like 4 places that commercially manufacture it like UC Berkeley Blue_PDT_01_26 So I'd have to say I'd have to blend it on my own I guess....

how many gallons a car on average holds :I think it's like 16 right?

[there's a bunch of other stuff but I think I can do that on my own.... hopefully....]

THANKS A TON IF YOU HELP XD Why can't we just have hampster powered cars?.......

Um...I think our reputation exceeds us.

I have never heard of Ediesel. I have never seen a place where you can get regular ethanol let alone Ediesel. Probably has to do with the facts that ethanol takes more energy to make than you can ever get out of it, it's much more expensive and the ethanol is corrosive to the plastic and rubber parts of normal engines so that you need a modified engine. You probably already knew all that.

It sounds to me like something that doesn't exist outside of hardcore liberal enclaves like UC Berkley so you'd better make it a real short trip unless those other three places are within one tank of each other. As far as I can tell from a quick google search, the stuff is quite experimental and isn't really available commercially.

I'd also say that you should take a trip on whatever fuels are actually available to outside the Land of Fruits and Nuts so you can get an idea what the real world is like. Take your idiot professor with you, maybe he'll learn something too.

We have to have ethanol in our gasoline down here in Houston, but I don't think it's in diesel. @_@

How many miles per gallon do you get? If nothing else it'll give me an idea to guesstimate 0o.... Where do you get Ethanol? from stores or the gas stations?

I don't know what kind of mileage I get. It isn't good enough.

Ethanol isn't legal to buy straight up. It's grain alcohol, aka White Lightning.

LOL I would love doing a REAL trip... this is all an imaginary thing, we don't actually get to go anywhere.... dangit lol. Yeah, I don't have a car that runs on Ediesel anyway 0o.... Good thing I didn't get Wind powered cars instead...
At least wind is available. Maybe the hidden point of this assignment is to demonstrate how impractical and ridiculous this stuff is.

Eh. Gas down here (regular with added ethanol) is about $2.07 a gallon. Diesel (w/o) is... $2.39. D:

I'm going to guess outside of the city gas is around $1.97 or $1.95 because they don't add ethanol.

In my car, with my lead foot I get about 22-23 miles per gallon. I used to get 24 T___T

good! that comes close to my 22.2 miles per gallon I got from somewhere on the net 0o... I'm sort of worried cuz... my "Ediesel" cost I found was 1.20$.... no where NEAR what you have 0o....

regular Diesel here is 2.91$ so I guess if you add 10cents like in your thing it's about 3.01$... close enough dang it XD

Texas's gas is WAY cheeper isn't it? 0o....

Well, I don't drive a diesel. My mom does in her bug Blue_PDT_01_28 and she gets around 35 miles a gallon.

Yeah. I guess Texas gas is cheaper. ^_^;; Still too expensive though.

I prefer paper preserves to paper jam. Both are preferable to paper jelly.
