I suddenly remembered this site after getting back into anime with Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai. I've never been into a lot of anime recently but there was something in it that really drew me back with a feeling of nostalgia. I guess it was just the way the plot was so beautifully told and how the setting so much reminds you of what you had in the past... I remember the time when I enjoyed a lot being here.

Hi Shiine,
Sounds about right regarding Ano Hana. I really liked that anime. In away, yes, it kind of does parallel this place doesn't it. Going back to an old club house after growing apart. We'll keep this place as long as we can. It'll always be around if you want to chat with old friends.

I only recognize that anime because of it's super long name. I know I downloaded it but I didn't know anything about it. Now I'll have to dig it up and give it a look. I don't watch as much anime as I used to but I download as much as ever. I guess I hoarding it against a time when I can't afford a connection.

I'm in St. Ignace right now using my friend's spare computer.

I never finished my commentary on Sakamichi no Apollon. After my last post the show seemed to give up on throwing old jazz your way and devolved into a daisy chain of love triangles. He loves her but she loves the other guy but he loves this other girl who loves the guy who doesn't seem to be interested in romance at all. All in all, I still really liked the show, it just wasn't as awesome as I had hoped.

I also just finished watching AKB0048. This show would be pure poison to any of you who don't like moe. Add to that a totally ridiculous plot and you have something that I really don't want to admit that I liked - but somehow, I did. I must be getting senile.

BTW, I signed up with My Anime List (MAL). It's an anime community where you make up a list of all the anime and manga you have seen or are watching and rate it (a tall task for me) and then go discuss them to your heart's content.

I've actually been watching a lot of anime lately. I just don't bother to watch a series until it's done. So if Apollon is done, I'll go get it.

In addition to guilty pleasure service/action:

maji de watashi ni koi shinasai
princess lover

Some have been thoroughly entertaining:

Working!!!
Baka to Test to Shokanju
Seitokai Yakuindomo
Ano Natsu De Matteru (Onegai Teacher universe)

Some have been thoroughly epic:
Eureka 7

especially "X'amd Lost Memories"

Sorry, just don't have too much motivation to discuss as I used to.

Yes. it's done at 12 episodes. They could make a second season. I'd like to see it but I doubt they will.

Working and Baka to Test I liked. Didn't see the next two, but it's good to know about worthy shows I've yet to see. Tried to watch Eureka 7 on AS but couldn't handle the endlessly whining children. X'amd has been on my list for a while.

I understand that. Too many shows are good enough to watch without getting the brain working. What's to say about such shows?

Case in point: I just finished marathoning Guilty Crown. It's not bad at 22 episodes. It's well told, good backgrounds and artwork, music isn't bad and it is so very much like Code Geass and a whole lot of other anime.

For some unknown reason the closing song kept reminding me of a song from GITS SAC 2nd Gig. It's the one being sung in the background while the Tachikomas are sacrificing themselves (not the one they themselves are singing). Outside of the show, I had never really listened to the song but it really struck an emotional chord the the last time it came around on AS. Today I dug it out of my music archive, it's called I Do. (from Stand Alone Complex OST 2). With only two words I understand, it grabbed my heart and shook hard. The rest of it is in Italian. I looked up a translation and once again Yokko san scored. You can hear it at that link. too. Of course, all you guys did all this years ago.

Ann is streaming the movie Oblivion Island: Haruka and the Magic Mirror. It's similar to Spirited Away, very good and free.

Really? I watched three episodes of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure before dropping it. It was too much like watching someone else play a video game.

I've been thinking about lately, jjjynx. I saw a BBC documentary about Singapore. It's an interesting place.

Hahaha...Jojo animated was all about them literally animating a manga. And the seiyuus and all the extra effects they put in made it all the more entertaining.

Loved the way all the charactes narrate themselves, and how Speedwagon narrates everything happening around him. Which is how the manga actually worked to all the bizzare happenings, just that you get to hear them think out loud in the animated version, making it funnier.

And there was a Documentary here? Cool. I've lived my whole life here so I can't say its all that interesting. We've really pretty much ran out of unique things to do here.

Guess I'll search the doc out and see if what it says is mostly true. And if its about us being late? Yes we are usually late. That's definitely true.

I guess I'll have to give JoJo another look.

Here is a link to a torrent for that Singapore Documentary:

http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic_124652.htm

It talks about how your government makes you open a savings account to pay your mortgage. It talks about the harbor, the language, China Town and architecture, food, the island which was intended to be developed but mostly turned into a park. It didn't say anything about any tardy tendencies.

Have any of you been watching Space Dandy on Toonami? It's Shinichiro Watanabe's latest and his first comedy.

There are four episodes out so far. It's on Toonami (Cartoon Network) at 11:30 PM Saturdays. They're streaming it so you can catch up: http://video.adultswim.com/toonami/

If you'd rather see the subs, Funimation is streaming those: http://www.funimation.com/shows/space-dandy/anime

Space☆Dandy Promo #2:

There's some good stuff this season, but nothing that is really great.
