Currently I am watching Monster...And GFC, IT'S AMAZING!!! But I am currently around ep. 20+. A wandering doctor...with a gun...and a kid. Guess I have to start raiding my old comrade's house...if he has one. *sigh* And some other very old animes...Flame of Recca, Violinist of Hamelin, Kazegakaze Tsukikage, Burn Up Excess.

GFC = GrinfilledCelt, silly. Most people just call me Grin though.

I told you it was good, Dread. You should listen to me more often. Blue_PDT_01_16

Sounds like something my boyfriend would say for something I didn't believe him about.

I watched the first episode of Monster and I liked it, but never got past that episode... Now they're past episode 70, right? So it's probably..too late. PDT_Xtremez_03

Heh...Indeed it is. At first, I read the review, my first reaction was...feeh, must be one of those detective anime. But it's totally different... even though there's no swords fighting and such, it's the story that attracted me. Heck.... I bought the DVD out of boredom.

It ends at episode #74 and it isn't too late, the fansubs are still available from Soldats and Anime-Kraze. It hasn't been licensed yet, but I'd hurry.

It will remind you of The Fugative at first, if you're familiar with that, but it's so much deeper. That DVD you have is a bootleg, Dread. As I said, it hasn't been licenced here yet. I'll bet it's subs only, no dubs.

So much to download, so little computer space.

That's what DVD burners are for.

It is a long one, but you'll be eagerly awaiting each one. At least you won't have to wait a week or more for each one to be subbed.

I'm very lucky to have it on TV here.

And geeze...Sokyuu No Fafner, amazed at how quick they killed one major character so quickly......a cute little girl, with so much to share, too...I should reccomend it, if you'll haven't already watched it.

Fafner was pretty good.

Same character design as Gundam Seed huh? Characters look like they were cast in both anime.

Fafner is a cross between RahXephon, EVA & Argento Soma. Pretty interesting at least. But of the genre I'd rank em... 1)Rax 2) EVA 3) Fafner 4) AS

Too bad, I deleted it. In more recent memory, I've been doing more deleted than burning. Gomen, Gomen PDT_Zamourai_25

I'll put Fafner 1st, followed by evangelion, then Rax

I didn't enjoy Raxephon that much, simply because although I know what they're trying to tell us, it doesn't has as much impact as the other two. Besides it's opening song...otherwise it had a story worth improving...for it's ending...I can accept the fact the female in yellow shirt is the "reporter" (I can't reember her name), but don't you find it weird that early in the series, it was RaXephon that lead him to Rax itself using the girl's image...I do not understand this part, and they never really explained.

I guess if it was strictly on story... I'd rank Argento Soma first, in general it felt like everything was presented purposefully, no filler episodes, the revelation at the conclusion makes for a satisfying end. Fafner had an interesting story... but, for lack of a better word, bored me at times.

Now story is probably the most important thing, and I admit, there's some lack of clarity for Rax. But they are more or less the same story line. And it's the other factors that push me on how I rank them.

The art in Rax is by far the best, Giant Robot design, character design (the girls certainly are hottest in it... which I admit am a sucker for), and the cell animation, backgrounds... etc.. There are a couple of really bad episodes where you can see 'aprentice' -quality work, but they uphold OAV quality art for the most part. Rax also has my favorite soundtrack... Maaya Sakamoto's opening song is one of my faves of all time.

Fafner's opening song... sucked. I hate that nasal-opera-techno fusion. Her voice irritated me to no end. The music in Fafner & AS are both forgettable. I guess since music is a theme of Rax, it's easier to focus on it, and they do a good job with it.

EVA is something else. It has high marks for setting the standard which all these others basically copied. I like how it captivated me all the way to the end... but I hate how it pisses me off at what an atrocious ending it has. Besides 'Fly Me to the Moon' I don't remember anything else about the soundtrack. The art is high quality as well.

Now back to the confusion of RaXephon, maybe I'll rewatch it to see what's up. Better yet we can all watch it to see if we can break it down. Get some opinions from people who haven't seen it yet. Let me go dig it up.

I just picked up the entire Outlaw Star series at Best Buy for $40. I haven't seen that since it was on CN. I'm geeked!
