AKUMETSU!!! Heck of a manga, even though there's no sword and fighting scenes ( i think...so far there's none ), it still managed to capture my attention. It's a story of a vigilante who strikes ( and kills ) evil that threatens Japan's economy and justice. and btw aku means evil and metsu is destroy or kill. Oh yeah, the name of the hero while masked is Akumetsu named by the president of Japan himself. ANYWAY...I couldn't explain well but....heck

http://www.onemanga.com/Akumetsu/

read em online....Nyaaa~

I'm really hitting it on Soul Eater Manga.

I'm recommending it for Dread especially, and shinne too, if you're still here.

If anyone knows about Erementar Gerard, which I also recommended a few years earlier, it's a little similar due to the fact it's also Human X Weapon methology in weapon.

Meanwhile the difference is still huge, because I don't see Scythes being used correctly in anime or games often, one fine example of a scythe user I acknowledge will be Zasalamel from Soul Calibur IV. Maka, a scythe user whose Scythe, Soul Eater, is another that makes full use of whatever possible from a scythe. When I say Possible I meant theorethically possible and entertaining, it doesn't really means it's really possible by human hands.

I've seen Testament from guilty gear and the way he uses the scythe is technically impossible, throwing it around , and a few other weird moves. I can't think of another scythe user besides the Gundam Death Scythe, and that's just as impossible as always.

Not only that Soul Eater involves a scythe, the other main characters also have weapons and moves that evolves rapidly throughout the series, unlike Bleach, which somehow depends on one move on Ichigo, which I'm very displeased with. I hope he get's pwned by mr fast wings soon.

And most importantly, the cast of maniac bad guys of soul eater is the most hilarious and hardwarming bunch you'd ever seen. And who'd have thought a Shinigami could have such a funky face, yet be so damn strong at the same time.

Well, I said my share, you guys do the checking out. Remember that OneManga.com is always available for those who can only read mangas in English. meanwhile for the others who can read mandarin, I reccommend http://www.xindm.net.

So this morning I opened this thread to read jjjynx' post and saw my post above. Realizing that I never remembered to read that, I followed Dread's link and ended up reading forty chapters of Akumetsu in one day-long marathon. Only thirty-nine more to go. Boy, we sure could use an American Akumetsu right about now. I mentioned about it to one of my housemates and he said that bankers were very popular as villains these days, but Dread posted that link over a year ago. Visionary!

Sorry, I didn't get to any of your, recommendations, jjjynx.

No don't worry about it. I'd only recommend you Hammer Session since if I remembered correctly you guys were fans of GTO.

And Akumetsu is fitting the current crisis quite interestingly. I'd have you guys know I have the highest paid ministers in Singapore, and they're telling us they earned their rights to it. Not that we can do anything about it, but akumetsu style is still quite extreme, it is, a manga, after all Blue_PDT_01_01

And hooray for the $2000 wastepaper basket!

I've been busy with work, and going out with wjabba the past week, but I still won't be too free untill I complete my bro's website. Meanwhile, a trip to the manga store revealed a beautiful gem. I Title translation in mandarin is a little off, so I'll do my best to translate the title here...:

Kuro the Coffin Carrier ~ Memories of Travels

棺担ぎのクロ。~懐中旅話~

Oh, I found an info site on it, be sure to give it a try! It's a memorable little thing! Seems they call it Shoulder-a-coffin: Kuro

Quote:
From Yen Press:

Kuro, a little tomboy garbed in pitch-black with a little-tomboy-sized coffin on her back, heads out on a journey to find a certain witch. In the company of her faithful bat friend, Sen, Kuro encounters all manners of people and places which fire the readers’ imaginations.

I don't know if you guys can get the english version on the net, but do try to read it. It's like a simple fairy tale...with a style that adsorbs the reader in.

Really really cool manga IMHO.

Well, I went off searching for it yesterday. I couldn't find it. I checked one called Kurozakuro, since you weren't sure what the title was. That wasn't it but I read the whole thing anyway.

I found something interesting this week. But as usual, I only read them in either the Mandarin or Japanese language. But it seems Bakaupdates have the proper english names available for you to check them out. I'll post the links here for you Grin.

http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=30262

http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=40888

http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=12948

http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=28422

http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=19082

Japa5 is not for kids. I suppose that's about it for now, I forgot what I recommended before, if I find anything interesting I'll try to get you the english title again.

Meanwhile do give those a try. I'll still be busy for a little while. And whjabba where the hell are you and when are you getting back!?

I finally completed all 27 books of Fist of the North Star.

Either it's just me, or the older I get, the more tears comes out of my eyes.

Tears flowed when Raoh died, which I believe was as much tears as back when I watched the last episode of Gungrave.

Hokuto no Ken Manga was the original thing, and I think the remake of the anime did the original series much justice, together with the New game from the series.

To people who like Manly things, please give it a try.

And damn 2 weeks to complete all 27 books, I'm really getting old, and slow.

Read this. Probably one of few shonen manga out there that deserve some love. Better than Bleach, Hundred Piece and any other mainstream shonen out there. Blue_PDT_01_03

I just started re-reading Rurouni Kenshin.

No. Read it now! Hopefully, some publisher outside Japan will pick this gem. It has a nice mix of comedy, tragedy ( like...a bullet through my kokoro ), romance, action.

Ahhh Rurouni Kenshin.....nostalgic memories began to resurface.

Imma collecting Berserk (17 - 37, vol 38 coming soon....about time ), Vinland Saga (1 - 3 ) and Otoyomegatari (5 - 6, damn hard to get it here Blue_PDT_01_13 ) .....
