I know I don't get drunk as an excuse to avoid responsibility, although I can believe many might. When I'm drunk I'm extra careful because I know I'm more liable to do something stupid. It seems I'm in the minority with this. It's a shame so many people use it as an excuse to be dicks, but the people that do that are often just as irresponsible when sober.
Hmmm... maybe I should get into psychology. It's something I've always found interesting, but I always shied away from studying it.

In my youth one of my brothers gave me the best advice I could have received at that time. I had just done something stupid and muttered something about being high at the time. He told me, "Never let being high be an excuse for your actions." I'm sure those words saved me a lot of grief in the following years.
