First time I read the whole thread. Funny!

But don't worry, I'm here, so we don't have to sacrifice Dreads virginity.

Anyways a couple of things to note which should answer some lingering questions.

1) Where do I disappear off to?

I am around almost always. For that period of 2 months from Feb and March, I was in a intensive training course. I will not use the site for a few periods, but I do have a special forum for my personal use. I use it like a notepad or a reminder which I can access anywhere there's internet. I've found that it's really useful, so I am almost always around. So I literally am the 'eternal lurker.'

2) What to do with the spammers?

About a month or two back I was looking for php code and scripts to help take care of this really really irritating problem. Two main things I installed where 1) A log which shows me the ip address of everyone who registers. That way if it's a spammer, then I can ban the root of all problems, their ip address. The other 2) is something that only shows 'activated' users. Which means only I see the spammers, rendering the site completely useless for their purposes. Google can't see them since they don't have my level of access.

3) Will I ever abandon this site or leave it to die?

Well you don't have to worry about that for another two years, since I prepaid for 3 years. But when that time comes, I will definitely renew it. This place is like a hobby that is both hilariously amusing at times, and useful in finding new things to watch, play or listen to. I've gotten maintainance to the site (see point 3) to about 5 minutes a week, so even though running it is a labor of love, it's virtually no labor at all.

Now this site hasn't grown at all since then, and I try to be meticulous at making sure I don't delete honest-to-goodness prospective members, I can't say I've seen any. I would like it to grow, but the core group is good enough to make me satisfied with it's state. If you do invite people and want to make sure that they don't get lost in the filtering process, pm me and let me know.
