And so the first reply is Grin,
And he wishes to know
About how he is to hear
These songs I do compose.
Have I been mistruthful
Or conveyed my meaning wrong
I'm just typing out lyrics
To the rhythm of a song
Perhaps you could make the music in your head
Sing along to these songs as you read the thread
Perhaps you could whistle a few bars
Or just hum it as you strum it out on your guitar
I just made this because I'm bored
And felt somewhat inspired
To write words without a score
But now I'm feeling tired
Don't be overcome with sorrow
I'll be back tomorrow
To scribe more lyrics as required _________________ PARTY TIME. |

That was pretty nice! Though I'm afraid you may tire of doing this every time someone replies. XD So, I'm posting. I'm all about the anime.
And the trance music! Um. I wonder what will come of this post. =__= _________________

If I have to provide the music; it's called a poem, not a song. Not bad for all that. _________________

It's true that this may prove to be my curse.
Typing posts is one thing, it's much harder in verse.
And lately I haven't been in a singy mood.
So my rhymes may come out rather crude.
But I set myself up for this cruel plot.
So what the heck, I'll give it a shot.
I'm typing at 8AM, in response to Kelsey's post.
Anime and trance are the themes she wants the most.
But of requests, I never did boast!
So it's not my responsibility to be so gracious a host.
SONG THREAD! Na-na-na-na-na-na-na.
I've just seen a post FROM DREAD! Na-na-na-na-na-na-na.
Wait a moment that's the WRONG THREAD! Na-na-na-na-na-na-na.
SONG THREAD! SONG THREAD!
And then Kurushi says...

Well, alright, but it won't be very long.
I've been up all night but I'm still going strong.
Climbing up buildings like mother-bleepin' King Kong.
Leapin roof to roof like a devil in disguise!
Fightin' crime without even looking with my eyes!
Lawyer by day, costume fetishist by night.
The name's Matt Murdock and I'm pretty alright.
SONG THREAD! Na-na-na-na-na-na-na.
I really should have been IN BED! Na-na-na-na-na-na-na.
Yet I've been here all this time INSTEAD! Na-na-na-na-na-na-na.
BUT WHO CARES! SONG THREAD!

I contest that, good sir! I claim that you are wrong!
Even if you can't hear the music, even if you don't feel the beat,
Rhyme and rhythm are still at this thread's meat!
Poems go anywhere! They're just words written down.
These lyrical stylings are made for a sound.
I'm just not providing it, I lack the skills for that.
Though it's conceivable that later I could add a track.
SONG THREAD! Na-na-na-na-na-na-na.
Yeah that's WHAT I SAID! Na-na-na-na-na-na-na.
I like peanut butter ON BREAD! Na-na-na-na-na-na-na.
But I'm stopping now because my brain is dead.

Imaginary purple dancing cows?
What's this you're talking about now?
Don't be silly! It shan't be allowed!
Why would they dance? And how?
Allow me to tell a different tale, if I may!
Of a most astounding and glorius day,
When I was witness to an amazing display -
Black and white cows eating bundles of hay.
You may claim that this is no unusual scene
But my story is not quite what it seems!
The size of these bovines was supreme.
They were the biggest cows I've ever seen!
And so he told the tale,
Of the secret cows from mars.
Twenty feet tall,
And that's not all,
Their eyes shone like stars.
If only you'd have been there,
You'd know the song is true.
Towering above rooves,
They had diamond hooves,
And wings of silver too.
Now there was this one cow,
The leader of the herd.
He wore a crown atop his head,
And flew just like a bird.
But when the day was over,
And the great beast went to sleep,
What should come pouring from his nose,
But an entire flock of sheep?
And so he told the tale,
Of the tiny nasal sheep.
Smaller than mice,
But larger than lice,
And oh so ever meek.
If only you'd have been there,
You'd know the song is true.
And each crack of dawn,
Would come Mama Hawne,
And she'd cook them in a stew.
So many remarkable creatures,
Did I witness on that day.
But one of them impressed me
In an entirely different way.
His name was Kurdish Molster,
A lion grown from a seed.
Yet it wasn't this that stunned me,
But rather that he spoke like a Swede.
And so he told the tale,
Of the cat with a golden mane.
With razor claws,
And a fiery roar,
Yet his words were his claim to fame.
If only you'd have been there,
You'd have seen it too.
You wouldn't seen it now,
They're gone somehow,
But I swear this song is true.
Would I ever lie to you? _________________ PARTY TIME. |

A purple dancing cow, you ask how?
I was low on dough, but I made a bet though.
So I bet him my purple dancing cows.
I forget the details now,
but it was something about
when I turn 27 I'd become insane
with a lunatic's brain
and I would be locked away.
But he said no, he said nay,
"You will own an asylum one day,"
did he say.
He bet me in cash,
one hundred dollars
but I had nothing to match
and nothing to pay.
So I told him, the day
I turn 27, I swear to heaven
I'd give him 7
imaginary purple dancing cows.
In four years hence
shall we end the suspense
of whether or not
I will be locked
in an asylum one day
so I can say, "Hey,
you owe me one hundred dollars."
But if in four years hence
the suspense should end
with me owning an asylum
then he can collect them
my 7 imaginary purple dancing cows. |

Clearly with such talent,
I am unneeded here.
Tis best if I go hide away,
And shrivel in despair.
Speak not! I will not hear.
And deep within the darkness,
Of my secret underground lair,
I draft my wicked plans,
And slowly I prepare.
Soon, revenge will be near!
Giant orbital lasers!
Deadly spinning razors!
Man eating slugs and carnivourous bees!
Steam-powered contraptions!
Time-travelling Saxons!
Hired Ogre thugs and malevolent trees!
The most brilliant plan you ever will see!

Bah, interruption!
But it's too late! The eruption!
The seismic generator has already begun its task.
A volcanic reaction!
It's too late for retraction!
I will be properly compensated at last!
Whispers of conscience
Subdued, repressed.
No more nonsense.
This is not a test.
Only seconds until destruction!
I'm serious, I mean it!
...
Any time now...
...
It's coming, I vow...
...
Your terrible fate...
...
Just you wait...
...
Would could possibly have gone wrong?
...
...
...
Whoops, I forgot to turn it on. _________________ PARTY TIME. |

Hmm, I'm not in a singy mood ...
So this one is going to be nice and slow.
You ready?
A tribute.
Across the seven seas I have seen
there is nowhere I have not been
but a wonder I did run across
while soaring over land and sky
It is not far, it is not near
verily I tell you, it is right here
while I, wandering like an albatross
coasting ennui with a sigh
found a most peculiar thing
and of its praises do I sing
likening a magic music box
if you press with gentle request
a song will spring forth
like a river from its source
a golden key that unlocks
a melody with ease and finesse
So amazed was I
time stopped, didst not draw nigh
from the rooftops did I shout
of this that I found, a tale I did tell
of a bard, an Orpheus
who sings so ardently without remiss
while I, merely shriek like Sirens on the shore
luring unsuspecting sailors to a watery grave
"wow, awsome Mongoose!! (saves that) (claps) bravo!"
bravo indeed, encore! Bravissimo!
ousted by myself, a mere roustabout?
nay, you are the jewel and I the grout |

That was great! It was so spiffy and grand for something about something silly. My poetry is always rather short. |
