Yesterday it was cold and raining so we went to Metro today instead. Yes, there has been a lot of growth since a week ago yesterday. I have also noticed that Metro is a bit behind my usual hangouts. Must be because it is cooler there next to the lake.
So compare these to the pictures I posted on April 23rd:
BTW, that is a Horse Chestnut Tree. It produces pagoda-like flower clusters. Usually they are white but this one's are pink.
Note the guy in the blue jacket in this next one. More on him later:
Even the Snapper put in an appearance. It didn't seem to be any greener though:
An interesting thing happened. As we began our usual walk around the Round Pond, a goose approached us from up ahead. He, I assume, was acting very aggressive and his message was clear, "This path is closed. You cannot pass." There was another goose ahead sitting in the tall grass at the side of the path. Ah ha! He's protecting his mate and their nest. In any case, he means business, so we went around the other way and as we approached the same thing happened. I snapped this picture:
That goose was funny. After initially acting very aggressive, running up, hissing at me and bobbing his head up and down; he'd then act like he didn't notice me when I didn't run away. Then he's get aggressive again when I backed off: I'd take a step back and he'd take three toward me. I guess that they don't call geese silly for nothing.
A few minutes later the guy in the blue jacket from above ignored the warning and got attacked. I wish that I had been quicker on the uptake and gotten some shots of that or even video. Fortunately he was okay and laughed it off.
Later, off in the woods, I got caught this scene:
Then with extreme digital zoom:
In this case, Dad must have been out at McDonald's getting dinner. Mom just stood there with a snoot full of down looking worried.
This last one is a puzzle. What is wrong with this picture?

I freaking love linocut printing. Although the first time I encountered it I ended up with 3 stitches... I should post some pictures of that. It was intense.
Also, your facial expression in the self-portrait is amazingly awesome. _________________ "You left me for a TREE!?"

Day-am Dread! You're definitely the one around here with all the artistic talent. Those are great, too bad you messed up that first one by leaning on it.
I'd like to see those pics, Lost. _________________

And you are wrong, my dearest Grin~ There is one more amongst us...well...maybe two...that pursue the way of art...well...it branches from art at least. Mongoose and Kelsey, if I recall my memory correctly. Kelsey studies animation while Mongoose learns graphic designs and I learn Fine Arts. So....that makes 3 artists in this beloved board of ours.
And I leaned on it.....on purpose! XD Well...at first I thought I wanted to put leaves on it but...too plain I must say. So I ended up using my bare hand. Turned out quite nice....reminds me of Roswell.
Whoaa...lost..never thought that you actually have an interest in prints. I love manual prints....and get myself dirty because of it...with colors. Of course the hardest part was carving of a woodblock. Lino is easier to carve....and dam expensive than woodblock.
Yeah...and I grew tired because it's hard to maintain that facial expression for hours WHILE sketching.
I'll post something new.....but most of my work are still in progress. And the rest of em...are....old stuff. And not to mention I have a rival that I must defeat no matter what! If I lost....I will become her butler for a week. _________________ The mark of my divinity shalt scar thy DNA. |

True, but you're the only one who posts their art; which reminds me, I was going to bug Kelsey to post that animation she worked on at school. She must be done with it by now, but it's hard to bug someone who is rarely around. Mongoose is another one on the MIA lists and I believe that Lost does some art too. You seem to be the one who is the most immersed in the Arts though.
I like that lino because you didn't use a leaf. That would have been so boring! That's why I'm looking forward to seeing what you do next.

So many things to do with so little time.....Anyway, a scene of my hectic studio.
And yes, it's REALLY bad. It will leave a scar on my pride and honor. And I feel like that I'm losing to her...she's too.....good. And forgive me for being, away for way too long ^^; . _________________ The mark of my divinity shalt scar thy DNA. |

"Would Madame wish me to draw her bath?"
"Yes, please do, Dreeves."
"Very well. Would madame prefer pen and ink or pastels?"
So what do you get if you win?
I like the skeleton with the hat thing. That hat seems to be a theme with you, no? _________________

=____=; Well, nice pun....I think.
Nothing much, if I win she'll treat me to a full course of Korean food. I've long for it ever since I watched Korean drama.
Not really, those are just sketches and the hat just happened to be one of the object that I need to draw. And here's the real deal...well....I still believe it's not done yet.....
P/S :- What's with Dreeves? _________________ The mark of my divinity shalt scar thy DNA. |

Yes, it was a pun on 'draw'. I keep forgetting that English isn't your first language since you speak (type) it so well. Dreeves would be your butler name: Dread + Jeeves. I know, it wasn't my best joke this week.
The perspective of the skeleton in the first picture is part of what made it interesting to me. _________________

^^; Well....the thing is, I can't really get English puns. Will take me awhile before I go "AHHhh....I get it". Dreeves.....I won't be hearing that from her mouth, that's for sure.
Ouuhh....never thought it's really that interesting. It would've been interesting if the guy's head isn't gone. That man lost some bones not to mention a skull.
Well jjynx, it's suppose to be a gesture drawing, so as long I managed to capture it's form, it's fine. Details and such aren't a major factor when doing gesture drawing. It's kinda tiring doing this sort of drawing since you have to move quite a lot and aggressive. _________________ The mark of my divinity shalt scar thy DNA. |

Puns are an odd sort of humor. Either they're funny right away or they never are. If they require any sort of explaining they just fail miserably. Then they never work when translated to another language. It sometimes gets annoying when an anime includes translator's notes explaining puns. Although they may explain an otherwise non-sequitur in the dialogue they never make it funny.

The skeleton sketch and drawing are both interesting and I like them. I think that I like the simpler sketch better. Because of the view from above it's not readily apparent that there is no skull under the hat. I get the impression that in the drawing, there were spots where you were uncertain what you wanted to do, but I only notice that after looking at it for a while.
