Piece of $H!T. That's what that game is. Square has completely sold out. There is no way in hell that game scored pristine reviews on every major gaming review mag or site. I bet you anything that Square paid off a bunch of reviewers to give the game a good score. Cuz honestly. I'm not impressed at all. It looks like Final Fantasy 10 and plays like Drakengard. No turn based fighting like Square claimed? That's a complete load of bull. Gripes, complaints, and rebuttals? I'd like to hear it. Final Fantasy is nothing but milked and recycled bulls**t ever since Hironobu Sakaguchi left.

Good to see you back, jimmy. I have been contemplating bugging you on myspace about your absence.

I bought FFXI and didn't realize that it was an online subscription game until I got it home. I don't play those but the store wouldn't take it back because I had opened it. Swell. I spent $50 for a game that I will never play. I'm still pissed off about that so I'm not about to fall for FFXII.

Personally I'm actually quite interested in FFXII, but I can't really comment on it until I've tried it. I never liked the old Final Fantasy battle system that much. This one looks like it could be more my style. Still, I can see why fans would be annoyed.

Not every review has been good. The GameTrailers review said that even though the ideas look good on paper, they aren't actually fun to play, which is one thing I'm worried about. Video reviews are better because you can actually see the game that they're talking about and they're often more concise and to the point.

However...

The battle system is just an elaborate and prettier version of Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic's battle system. If you've played KOTOR, you'll realize that. You just don't have an option to quota your actions in battle. You always have to manually change it during the ATB charge.

Final Fantasy always had that sense of originality up to 10 (never played 11 so I can't judge). But handing me a game that feels like FF10 with a tragic element and a slower version of the KOTOR battle system with an ATB gauge with no quota is just straight same old same old. Considering this an FF game disgusts me. It's an outright insult. It's just not fun. Games nowadays conform to movie watchers. You play 'til you see a pretty movie. FF7 was fun. FF8 was unique with its military element. FF9 went back to old school roots with that nifty system that tells you about other events occuring while you're off doing things. 10 was boring but pretty. Sphere Grids sucked, but they were unique. 10-2 and the dress spheres was alright. It's just that PR chapter is aggrivating as hell simply due to the fact that I didn't want to play a whole chapter advertising a planet wide concert. Boo. DOC pretty much caught me with the... what happens to everyone card. And now twelve... it's like jacking someone's sports car, modifying it, and calling it yours. Hah hah. Funny...

So the materia system is back, but the game itself wasn't good.....oh well, I'll still give it a try...it's FF after all. Can't start complaining till you've played through it.
